This delicate white-flowering perennial vine is native to most of North American and grows up to 15 feet (4.5 m) in length. It is a climbing vine that flower profusely in its axis and grows by twisting leaf petioles around other plants or stakes. It can tolerate all light and soil moisture requirements but does not do well in calcitic soils. Note: Some people are allergic to the leaves and stems of this plant.
